PROJECT TITLE : Visual Identity
The aim of this project is to provide the artist known as ‘Kosh’ with a visual identity that represents what his music is about in a visual form. On this project I have worked with the artist himself over the phone and online to gather information about what would best suit his style of music. I have also worked with Joseph Mckernan, as he is the main character in the video and helped with the camera work aswell.
My research was mainly around Aphex Twin and Chris Cunningham who have worked together on so much that they are kind of an un-official duo. I’d like to think I could possibly build up this kind of relationship up with Kosh, if this project goes to plan.
It has gone pretty smoothly so far. Maybe because I planned almost everything before I started shooting, from time plan to storyboard. It meant that I got more than enough footage but not so much that it would take days to go through. I feel comfortable with the artwork I have produced so far and am confident it will stand up at the end of next week.
Next Friday I will have a finished video approx 6-7mins long, album art work for a custom case (specifically not a jewel case) and

This week has been mainly about shooting the actual film as it is the major part of my project, but I have not forgotten about the artwork which a week ago I was happy with. When I came back to it after having worked on a still image in photoshop as a guide to what I wanted to achieve with the moving image which was essentially a rusty-grubby feel I felt that the artwork was too clean and needed some grime. It is getting closer to how I want it to look and in another couple of days I think I will be happy with my design ready for printing. In the meantime its time to start the edit!

Here are the story boards that I produced for my idea for the track. I shot the film on Wednesday night with the help of Joe and I now have about 99% of the footage I need to start editing with. To help with the editing and narrativity of the video I also produced a time plan of what was going to happen and when, which should prove useful in the final stages of editing.
