Update 2(this is not a football result!)


Another totally different idea I have been working on today, just wanted to take a break from birds! Still on the same concept of fast, new directions. I took this photo earlier today and wanted to create something with it. I thought about free running in my very first brainstorm but it it didn't go any further than a few lines on a piece of paper. As an image i like it but i'm not sure how strong it is compared to my other idea. Thats all for now!

Update


Here is a little update of what I have been working on this weekend. Fridays session helped me alot, not just what people suggested for my work but what was generally thought overall on everyones work. It was good to see what other people have been doing in their work. I don't think the project was a simple as I thought, because we almost have two clients, the tutors and Orange. Getting the right balance is the hard part. Some of the ideas I have come up with would work well for Orange but not Chelsea and vice versa.

These are the two mock up proposals that I have been working on this week. I feel both are not 100% finished but now I have seen how they work in the mockup template I can now see where I have space to play about with. Also this is not the final composition or style, just something so you can see a complete image.

Orange Brief Project 1 Further development

After Tuesday I felt a bit stuck and couldn't think where to take the "upgrade" or "Data & Technology" and so I thought i would give it a rest for a while a go back to "bigger networks" which I really liked the feel of. I wanted to get away from using the orange name in the artwork because the specifically said not too! After i had taken away the orange formation i was just left with dots which i don't think worked aswell and so i thought about communications on a daily basis other than humans. Insects are pretty interesting,high tech and always communicating to each other. The prime suspects were 'Bees' 'ants' and 'ladybirds'(i bet they never shut up)I was thinking of using bees, but from a birds eye view i thought the ladybird would look more symmetrical and fit better into the original design layout.

Idea development

Started concentrating on ideas for other keywords and concepts from the list "upgrade" and "data & technology" I wanted to try and show what you can get out of your mobile phone from orange. Which was a "juicy product" 'no bits, just pure orange" that kinda idea, but after tuesday my group decided it was a far to violent and harsh image which I now see in the image.

It's almost phone cruelty and seemed pretty dark when i thought about it!

I liked the idea of using fruit to replace the obvious choice for upgrade (old phone, new phone) and tried to create a simple image that communicated upgrading, "getting more juice for your money." After our group discussion we decided that even the fruit orange is still too obvious to be used in any work which was a fair point, even though a few of the winners last year used them in their illustrations.

Initial thoughts and ideas

The first idea is about bigger networks, the word network to me is about lots of connections to different places,people and companies. The framing of it is birds-eye view and the dots represent different people's heads, the orange ones are the staff that work for the company and the white ones represent all the customers.

This second idea is a lot more rough at the moment, the concept word that this is designed for is DATA & TECHNOLOGY, as these days you can get a hell of a lot in a mobile phone. This is really poorly illustratred here, but I just wanted to show roughly how I wanted it too look.
