Project 7
Self Directed Project
Initial thoughts + Ideas
KOSH (Project Idea)
As i really want to get more experience and knowledge about the production of music videos and promotion i thought a good oppertunity would be to create a music video for artist KOSH who is currently sending out demo tapes(cd's) to record labels to show them his music. As we all know sound and vision go well together and compliment each other. Therefore i want to collaborate with him to promote both of us in different areas but joining forces for an all out assualt on what sound and vision can produce when put together. This idea would include making a logo, album artwork and music video for KOSH . This is really something that i strongly want to do after i graduate and have been interested in for a couple of years now.

"Chris Cunningham's directorial work is well known in the worlds of music video, commercial, and video art. He first achieved notoriety in 1997 with the horrific and comic clip for Come to Daddy by Aphex Twin. In quick succession he created six memorable and highly individual clips, each borne of his ability to extract a song's subtleties and pour them into a visual form. Mr. Cunningham's commercial work have also shown a bit of his ability in developing an interesting and subtle vignette out of a small bit of script."
This is some of the work C.Cunningham did for Aphex that i really like the look and feel of and is something i want to try and incorporate into the music video and artwork, as KOSH's music is quite dark and experimental. At the bottom of the page is some work by design group BUCK and X-Press 2's 12inch artwork by Red-design for the kill 100 single.

Some more album artwork for Quantic's latest album and also Bonobo's again by Red-design.
This is a strong image, and works really well because it has depth to it, which has been created by actually making most of the front cover text and imagery. Which gives the final image an interesting quality that would not have been achieved with just CAD.
The Bonbo album cover works well because of the clever use of white products found at the artists home. Even if you did not know that, it still gives it a collective feel for the album titled 'Days to Come' which gives me the image of building on what we already have.
